Making God Glad

TEXT: PSALM 45:8 "All your robes are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia; from palaces adorned with ivory the music of the strings makes you glad." Psalm 45:8 (NIV)

There is a chorus which says, ‘He has made me glad, I will rejoice for He has made me glad,’ but have you ever thought about making God glad, how can we do this? Who are the privileged people to make God glad? It is his people, his church the redeemed of the Lord, that has the great privileged to make Him glad. Is it possible that we can make God glad, can we put a smile upon His face, can we bring joy to his heart? What are some of the things that we can do to make our Lord glad?

1) WE CAN MAKE HIM GLAD BY OUR LOVE.

Love is at its best when it is shown, when it is expressed, when it is put into action. Any marriage that does not show the affection of love will suffer. Each partner will be longing for the love of their spouse to be shown, they will long for the affection of their loved one. God desires our love, let our feeling be know unto Him, tell Him how you feel, show Him how you feel about him. Love is best expressed in action and words, so to make Him glad tell Him how you feel about him. Times that we are so caught up in the asking from the Lord that we tend not yo tell Him how we feel about Him, how we appreciate Him, for without Him we are just lost souls.

2) WE CAN MAKE HIM GLAD BY OUR PRAISE........

We have all felt bad at times when we have worked hard, and someone else gets the praise for the job well done. It is done over and over again within the world and yes within the church. And I think that God does not get the credit for a lot of things that he has done, they are overlooked or the credit is given to someone else. We should always give Him credit and praise for all that he has done, for it is from the heart that we show our appreciation to Him.

3) WE CAN MAKE HIM GLAD BY OUR GIFTS.....

When we really think about it friend, life is a gift, time is a gift, talents is a gift, family is a gift, etc. You see saints in giving our gifts to the Lord, it is not the value of what we give, but the attitude and motive in which we give. The woman in the bible gave her last few cents, now it was not in the value of the gift that pleased Jesus, but He was pleased by the attitude and the motive in which she gave it.

So friend let us make our Lord glad today by showing Him our love, giving Him our praise, and using the gifts that He has given us for His glory.
