We Bring Joy To The Lord

I will rejoice over them to do them good - Jer. 23:41

How wonderful it is that the Lord takes delight in His saints. When I think of it, I cannot see any reason why God would delight in me, for I am mere man, I have failed many times, burden with the cares of life, yet God delights in me.

I am taken back to realize that God delights in me.

We do not read in scripture that God delighted in the beautiful majestic mountains or the scenic warm beaches of the earth, but we do read that he delights in His people.

We do not read that God takes pleasure in the sparkling stars, nor do we read that he delights in the angels of heaven , but we do read that he takes pleasure in His people.

We do not find that the angels give Him delight, but we do read that fallen, sinful, but saved human man, gives Him pleasure.

When we look around at all of God’s creation, it may bring delight or pleasure to us, but His people gives Him pleasure.

He said here that he will rejoice over them to do them good, he will plant them in this land with His whole heart and soul.

When he made the earth, He said that it was very good, but it was not the earth that brought Him pleasure, but it is His people that are saved by His blood, saved by the sacrifice on the cross, they are the ones that bring God pleasure.

We today take pleasure in walking on a beach, going on a vacation, seeing the majestic mountain and valleys of God’s wonderful creation, but God takes pleasure in you and in me.

When He looks upon those who are purchase by His blood, His chosen ones, His heart is overjoyed, his heart is overwhelmed with pleasure, He is pleased.

It is something to think about that God almighty takes more pleasure in me than, in His majestic creation, that He takes more pleasure in you than in the angels in heaven.

I don’t know about how you feel, but that makes me feel important, that makes me feel that I am somebody, that he loves me more than anything else in all creation, and that he will do me good.

It is good to realize that we make God happy, that we make God smile, that we make God laugh, that we bring Him pleasure.
